SLATE HAIR ACADEMY: TERMS & CONDITIONS – PRIVACY POLICY

By using our website (www.slatehair.com), our mobile application (the “App”), or by booking a course or purchasing a product, you agree to the following terms.

PART 1: TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. About SLATE Hair Academy

SLATE Hair Academy provides professional hairdressing education online and in-person. We offer accredited certificates and sell professional hair products.

2. Platform Use & Account Security

  • Accuracy: You must provide truthful information when booking or registering.

  • Security: You are responsible for your App/Website login credentials. SLATE is not liable for unauthorized access due to your negligence.

  • Data Deletion: App users can request account and data deletion at any time by emailing in**@*******ir.com.

3. Intellectual Property

All content—including videos, manuals, techniques, and the App interface—is the exclusive property of SLATE Hair Academy.

  • Restrictions: You may not record, screen-capture, or redistribute any course materials. Your purchase grants a single-user license for personal educational use only.

4. Course Bookings & Student Conduct

  • Confirmation: Your place is only secure once full payment (or an agreed deposit) is received.

  • Conduct: We maintain a professional learning environment. We reserve the right to remove students (without refund) for disruptive behavior, harassment, or safety violations.

  • Enrolment Agreement: Professional courses are subject to an additional Student Enrolment Agreement which must be signed before the course begins.

  • Nature of Booking (B2B): All professional training bookings are considered Business-to-Business (B2B) contracts for professional vocational development. B2B contracts are not subject to the 14-day consumer cooling-off period under UK law.

  • Non-Refundable Deposits: Deposits are strictly non-refundable as they secure a dedicated training station and educator.

  • Statutory 14-Day Waiver: For individual consumer bookings, you expressly request that SLATE begins enrollment services immediately upon payment. You acknowledge that this action waives your statutory 14-day right to cancel once the course is within 14 days of commencement.

  • Internal Complaints Procedure: In the event of a dispute, you agree to complete our internal resolution process (written complaint to the Principal) before seeking external legal representation.

5. Promotions & Discount Codes

  • Usage: Discount codes (e.g., “10% OFF”) are valid for one use per customer unless stated otherwise.

  • Exclusions: Codes cannot be used on sale items, gift cards, or combined with other offers.

  • Discretion: SLATE reserves the right to withdraw or modify promotions at any time.

6. Product Sales & Shipping

  • Pricing: Prices are in GBP. Please note: SLATE Hair Academy is not currently registered for VAT; no VAT has been charged.

  • Payments: We accept payments via Revolut, Stripe, and PayPal.

  • Delivery: Risk of loss passes to you once the item is shipped. SLATE is not liable for items stolen after confirmed delivery.

7. Returns & Refunds (Physical Products)

  • 14-Day Policy: Unused products in original packaging may be returned within 14 days.

  • Hygiene Exception: Due to health and safety, hair tools, brushes, or liquid products cannot be returned once the seal is broken or the item has been used.

  • Faulty Items: Report damaged items within 3 days for a replacement or refund.

8. ACADEMY SAFETY, PUNCTUALITY & ATTENDANCE

  • The “15-Minute” Rule: Students must arrive 15 minutes before the session starts for station setup and mandatory safety briefings.

  • Lateness & Attendance: Certification requires 80% attendance. Repeated lateness (3+ occurrences) will be recorded as unauthorized absence and deducted from your attendance total. Failure to meet the 80% threshold results in no certificate and no refund of fees.

  • COSHH & Health Safety: All students must strictly follow Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines and the Academy Risk Assessment folders (available in-salon and via digital student portals).

  • PPE & Uniform: Professional attire and closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Required Personal Protective Equipment (gloves/aprons) must be worn during all chemical services.

  • Model Liability: Services are performed by learners under supervision. Models waive claims for aesthetic dissatisfaction and agree to allow corrective work if a technical issue arises.
