As a freelance hairstylist and makeup artist who works in film and fashion, hair cutting has always been a skill I've wanted to add to my belt. And I'm so glad to have found Slate Hair Academy. I was a complete beginner, only cutting my friend's hair occasionally and now I'm already charging people for haircuts, and even did a haircut on a lead actor infront of a production team on set. I can't recommend this place enough. I did the 16 week hair cutting course every Monday whilst freelancing the other days of the week. It was a really flexible way for me to keep training whilst not having to stop working.

I had such a great day learning hair cutting at Slate. It was a day full of learning, and I really enjoyed every moment.
Michael is an amazing teacher. He gives everyone so much attention and explains every detail so clearly, which made me feel confident throughout the course.

What can I say about Michael and Luca? Absolutely amazing people and, without a doubt, the best training I’ve received in the hair industry.

Awesome day out at Slate! I booked in for the one day razor cutting course. Whats not to love about a day out in Soho for starters. Was greeted by Michael, who despite being busy setting things up was super friendly and engaging. Roman was our tutor for the day - there were two us learning razor cutting. Totally inspiring and loads of take home knowledge and practical experience. Would recommend to anyone.
